If you are, currently, an experienced locksmith, or want to become one, and are interested in full-time employment with one of the top locksmith companies, we want to meet you.
As a full-service locksmith, you will be accountable for scheduled and emergency jobs regarding re-keying, installing, repairing, and replacing household locks, commercial locks and security systems, and automotive locks and keys. Ideally, you will be able to respond to inquiries for duplication of car keys, lockouts of all kinds, laser car key cutting, and car key transponder programming. Remember, this is a full-time job and you will be expected to be on call for your scheduled hours.
Along with the skills already mentioned, you should be trained in and familiar with most of the following:
- residential, commercial, and automotive locks
- lock rekey and lock replacement
- ignition repair and replacement
- taking apart a lock and putting it back together
- making spare keys with key cutting equipment
- unlocking car doors and trunks
- repairing and putting in high-tech locks such as keyless entry systems, biometric locks, and electronic deadbolts
- setting up commercial security systems and video surveillance
Are you not an experienced locksmith? Do you have only a bit of experience with auto locks? We are able to provide training for applicants who are focused and willing to learn! Techs who pass our training program can subsequently enter all areas of service that we provide, and have the chance to start a lucrative and satisfying career!
You should be able to:
- work in stressful conditions and maintain your composure
- lift heavy items (+/- 50 lbs)
- work in all weather conditions, rain or shine, ice or snow
- be on-call 24 hours a day, 6 days a week
- work efficiently with high tech and low tech tools
- read and write well in English
- handle rude or upset customers with respect and calmness
- high school diploma or GED
- US citizen, Green Card holder, or valid work visa
- 5+ years experience as a locksmith is preferred, but not required
- dependable car or van
- terrific communication skills (this means being well-mannered and courteous)
- valid drivers license with a clean driving record
The pay for this position is commission based, according to your experience and salesmanship.
